Heidi Ukkonen is an Antwerp-based Swedish visual artist. Heidi's work can be described as a playful exploration of all things mundane. Using a combination of mixed-media, stark colours and bold texture, she produces images that express both a sense of optimism and hopelessness. She creates multi-layered worlds that are imbued with contradiction and antithesis, where the usual becomes unusual and pain becomes humorous. Ukkonen graduated from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, in 2015.
